Faithfulness

There are times and seasons when God will call you to do something new. He will prompt your heart to start a new adventure or take on a new challenge. However, there are also times when I believe God doesn’t want us to add anything else to our plates at all. He wants us to prove our faithfulness right where we are at. He wants to see what you will do with what you have already been given.

At times, the tasks we are given will seem menial. There will be times you will look at your seemingly insignificant task and think, “Does this really matter? Does God really care?”

When you read the parable of the talents in Matthew 25, we see an example of a poor steward, an average steward and a faithful one. The faithful one was commended in verse 23 “Well done good an faithful servant, you have been faithful with a few things I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share in your masters happiness!”

I am sure the other servants would be tempted to think, “Well, that servant was given more than we were!” But it wasn’t about how much the faithful steward was given, it was about what he did with what he was given. We can’t compare what we have been called to do with what others have been called to do. We simply must be faithful with what God has given us. It is then that we prove that we will be faithful enough to handle more.

Matthew Barnett says "Ordinary faithfulness produces powerful change that longevity will verify.”

Be faithful where you are at and with what you have been given, God is a rewarder!
