Ready or Not!

Have you ever had God call you to take a step of faith? I can look back on every major decision or transition in my life and every one of them came at a time when it took faith for me to accomplish it.

When God called us to be married, we were ready (maybe a little too ready for that one!) What we weren’t ready for was that the Lord called us to pack up all of our stuff and move to Las Vegas to help start a church right after our honeymoon. Gulp! Step of faith!

When we got pregnant with our daughter, we were shocked! In our minds, we planned on waiting longer…maybe when the finances were a little better or felt like we knew what we were doing! No! God called us to be parents despite our feelings of nervousness. Sure enough, in both of those things, (and many others in our lives) His wonderful and amazing Grace came upon us to do what we could never do on our own. In every instance, not only were we able to fulfill what he called us to do, but it came with an overflow of joy that we were not expecting!

Many people will wait until they see their circumstances line up perfectly in order for them to say yes to God. God honors that we plan, prepare and get training…but at some point, he just might call you to do it whether you feel ready or not!

One of the things I have learned about God is that He likes to get the glory for everything that happens in our lives. If everything always came at the perfect time, with perfect provision and full-readiness, it wouldn’t require faith. Hebrews 11:6 “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”

God loves people of faith because people of faith will give him all the glory! If you have ever prayed, “Lord, I want to glorify you with my life” - be ready! It might just require you to lay aside your own plans and take a step of faith.

What is your 'ready or not' testimony?

Most definitely moving here to San Diego. It is amazing to look back almost 3 years later and see what God has done in so many ways. From the restoration of Shaun's relationship with his Mom, to building a closer relationship with our kids... It was a leap that was worth it!!
